TSA boondoggle??

Apparently the TSA (the organization charged with protecting us from terrorist attacks on airlines, buses, etc.) spent $500,000 on an awards ceremony, including $81,000 on PLAQUES! I'm all for recognizing employee achievement, but gimme a break - makes you wonder where the rest of our taxpayer dollars are going.

Oh come on, wouldn't you love it if your boss came to you and said, "Jonathan, we want to do something special for you. We thought about giving you a small 2% raise, but instead, here's a plaque that cost the same as your raise WOULD have been."?

Oh, the rest of the tax dollars go to mechanical M&M dispensers for the offices of The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection.
